For a shrinking village of moschendorf in burgenland, this project propose community center as reaction against to broken morphology of village by road network. This village was strictly composed with 'streckhof' since agriculture as its main production. but due to border condition between Austria and Hungary since cold war era, main street was channeled perpendicular direction. this situation produced irregular pattern on the half of the village. From the acknowledgement of old and new pattern of the village, new community center was placed as a passage that connect old and new. The passage derives its spatial strategy from an analysis of the Streckhof typology. Rooms are arranged along a linear sequence. each rooms are either open to the weather or closed by its program. The open rooms are populated along a generous corridor which is either glazed or open canopy. The main program is contained in the closed, insulated rooms. Each of these rooms is rendered in a material particular to the village, such as brick, timber, or corrugated metal. As a whole, the insulated rooms read as a catalog of local building materials.
